Hello Everybody!

Another great day in Utah.  A hidden gem of a state!

This June finds me actively engaged in all things fireworks in preparation for the upcoming holidays.  Yes, in Utah we have two fireworks holidays in July.  The first is July 4th and the second is July 24th or Pioneers day.  This is the day that Brigham Young bought in the first wagon load of fireworks and declared "This is the place to shoot off fireworks."  So in the spirit of this proclamation we shoot a lot of fireworks on both holidays.

CaseLot Fireworks is a big promoter of safety.  We recommend following all of the state laws regarding fireworks!!  Some other things that we recommend.

1)  Know your shooting area.  If your in a cul-de-sac.  Be very careful shooting any of the large 500 gram cakes that have angled tubes.  These cakes need space!   Have everyone in the area take a moment and lower their garage doors.

2)  Keep a bucket of water handy.  Fireworks stay hot after discharge and it's a great idea to dunk them or pour water on them, before placing them in a dumpster!!

3)  Brace all of your fireworks with bricks or some strong items, ON ALL SIDES.  Fireworks that are taller and have smaller bases can start to rock and may tip.  This can really put a damper on your fireworks celebration.

4)  Stay at least 40-45 feet away from the fireworks when they are discharging.

5)  Know where your children are.  Teach them to respect fireworks and to enjoy them safely.

6)  Be careful with the metal sparklers.  These wires are very hot and sharp.  Make sure they are disposed of properly and not simply dropped on the ground.
